Quarter Quelebration {2}

The Fashion

What does the perfect birthday outfit consist of? A tribal skirt? A new pair of neon wedges? The perfect neon belt? And to top it off the most dazzling and sparkly necklace of all? Well in my case, yes, this was the best birthday outfit I chose to wear.
  • I chose to wear this high neck basic black knit top I picked up at Ann Taylor, it went perfect with my colorful tribal skirt. I got the skirt from Forever21 for a whopping $7. Seven dollars, that was it! I bought it a while ago just because of the great price and was so relieved to find that I still had it for the big Quelebration. You can find a similar one here Forever21. The belt also came from Forever 21 and was only $6.80, here is one that is similar Forever21, the belt went perfectly with my yellow and grey wedges from Target. My favorite part of the outfit had to be my Addison Necklace from Spike The Punch. I knew right of the bat that I wanted to somehow incorporate the necklace. It just screams, "BIRTHDAY" to me. If you are quick enough she has one listed right now, so go and buy it. What are you still doing here? go buy it!! I promise it'll bring the biggest smile to your face.
  • Top left- This is Teddi and I, you know the room mate that I can't stop gushing about and all her creative gloriness. Teddi is wearing a sheer blouse from Forever21, the back has some cut outs at the top, supes adorbs. And a suede black skirt also from Forever21 that she got for a whole $5! Amazing. Here are similar pieces- Top: LuLu's or Sosie & Skirt: Forever21.
  • As for the rest of my beautiful friends, they are all in a variety of flowy dresses, jeans, and bold jewelry. Bottom left- Laura, the good looking blonde in the front has on a faded sleeveless cheetah blouse and paired it with the most adorable neon beaded necklace from a boutique here in Louisville called, Work The Metal. Similar prints can be found here: Forever21 & Forever21.
  • Front and center is Jenni, the beautiful brunette in the green dress. Not only is she wearing a printed dress that is fitted at the waist but also has slits on the arms. This is a great way to take an ordinary dress to extraordinary. Similar dress seen here: Sosie.
  • Baili, the one really embracing the Batman mask is in a tight bandage skirt and a blouse that also is featuring the cut outs on the arms like Jenni. Prints and cut outs really seem to be making a statement at this Quelebration. Similar skirt and blouse: BCBG Skirt & Necessary Clothing Top
  • Bottom Right: My sister, the cute blonde in the pink pants is rocking the colored jean trend right now. She paired it with a simple navy top, very my sister, a classic style with just a little bit of flare. Keeping it simple is always on point in my opinion. Similar colored jeans can be found here: Ann Taylor Loft.
So there you have it, all of the fabulous clothing along with all the incredible people I am lucky enough to call friends and family.

I'm Here to PAAARRRRTTTTAAAAAYYY!!!!

As I mentioned previously my wonderful friends threw me a beyond fabulous party for my birthday this past weekend. It was filled with a homemade photo booth, mustache straws, and birthday cake shots- delish. See below for the greatest party I've ever been thrown. I've always been told "Go Big or Go Home" and let me just say this was beyond big, maybe so much you could call it enormous.
  • {Homemade Photo Booth} My friends made this incredible homemade photo booth out of only tissue paper! They are so crafty. This really was probably my favorite part of the Quarter Quelebration. The props were hilarious which included a Batman Mask and a Chicken nose. What is better than dressing up and taking a bajillion and one pictures with your closest friends.
  • {She is Quick and Curious and Playful and Strong} My amazing roommate Teddi, hand stitched this gift for me. She took some scrapbook paper and stitched the words in gold thread. I absolutely died when she gave it to me, the background paper just screams everything I love, Purple + Gold. Needless to say I really love it.
  • {Fried Cinnamon Doughnut Balls} I actually got to devour this bad boys while in Orlando on my actual birthday. My friends Blakie (who's wedding I went to) Shannon, and Lisa all took me to this great little sushi place.
  • {Unique Wrapping} Yet another Teddi creation, are you jealous yet that she isn't your roommate? Teddi gave me these great neon sandals from Target. I love that she is just feeding my neon addiction.
  • {Mustache + Purple Stripes + Q = Best Straws in All The Land} My friends Baili, Jenni, and Teddi made these with just a little bit of photoshop, hot glue, and BAM you have these amazing straws. These were definitely a party goer favorite, I think people we're even drinking beers with them.
More to come on the fashion seen at the party in Quarter Quelebration {2}.

A Quarter of a Century

"25"

This past Sunday I turned 25 and since I am determined to live until I'm 100 I have been calling it my {Quarter of a Century Celebration}. I am one of those obnoxious people that tend to really love their day of birth. With this being such a huge milestone in my life thus far I have been celebrating for a week, yes I know pretty annoying but I blame it on my wonderful friends and my amazing roommate Teddi- Yes that is her birth given name, no it's not a nickname she was just born with a beyond fab name, be jealous. Teddi has really taken my birthday to a whole 'nother level with giving me amazing gifts everyday and wrapping them in quite possibly the cutest ways ever, and she is even kind enough to be throwing me a party with amazing home made crafts. No worries, I will be posting all these wonderful things soon. So therefore, since it was my birthday, still technically my birthday week I have put together a list of my "birthday wishes".
Top Left: Etsy, Top Right: Jennifer Zeuner, Middle Right: Etsy, Bottom Left: Nars- Funny Face, Bottom Right: HoBo International

  • There is nothing I love more than gold and white. The deer head with gold antlers I think would look great in my house because we have a lot of dark cheery wood. Gallery walls are a great way to spruce up empty wall space and I think this would be a great addition. My roommate Teddi and I have been meaning to do this and I think the deer would be a great addition.
  • The Jennifer Zeuner bracelet shown in a "M" is what I am really truly lusting after right now. As I have mentioned previously I love anything with a Q. I wear gold jewelry everyday so this would be a great staple piece to my already gold collection. I need it, I want it, I just have to have it.
  • I think those gold bow earrings from Etsy are just adorable. They are simple and I could throw them on any day of the week. These types of earrings I think are key to have, I am a big fan of posts earrings because I tend to wear big necklaces and lots of army candy.
  • The NARS {Fancy Face} lipstick is a really great pop of fuchsia color for summer. You can throw it on with just some bronzer, blush, and some mascara and look ready for just about anything. I used to not wear a lot of lipsticks but recently I really love what they can do for an outfit.
  • The Rachel Hobo wallet is something I have been wanting for a very long time. I have been using Hobo products forever because they last so long. I love the way this one has the brass lining and the rich color of leather.
So there you have it. My list of birthday wishes, if my family is reading this and still haven't bought me anything yet, you're late, but I like these things. More to come of the Quarter of a Century Party plans soon!

Orange is Definitely the NEW Pink

Obsessing Over Orange

So I guess when Elle Woods said that famous line in Legally Blonde, "Whoever said orange was the new pink was seriously disturbed" she was referring to me. My attraction to everything orange has hit an all time high. I love all the different shades of orange from neon to a more coral orange. Below are the things that I can't stop lusting after or that I eventually gave in and actually purchased. Enjoy the simple geORANGEousness of it all!
Top Left: Zara Top Middle: Anthropologie Top Right: ASOS Bottom Left: Forever21 Bottom Right: Zara
  • The top left beaut of a dress is by one of my favorite stores Zara. Zara really thrives in the "simple pieces with flare" category in my mind. It is a European brand that finally now ships to the US, which makes me incredibly happy but my bank account not so much. However, I ordered that dress for a wedding and the color was even more vibrant in person, sadly I had to return it because of the fit. Being only 4'11 things have the tendency to look too "child like playing dress up in her mother's closet" syndrome, rather than the goddess pictured with legs for days. Still it is a great dress and I die for the orange.
  • The earrings are from Anthropologie, I love the Egyptian feel they have to them with the shape, color, and metal. I think they are divine and am seriously considering ordering them as we speak. The more I look at them the more I know I need them in my life. The orange color would seriously pop in my dark hair. Love them, end of story.
  • The top right dress is from ASOS, yet another European brand that ships incredibly fast if I don't add. I am a huge fan of the {cut-out} trend that is happening right now. How sweet is this pretty little heart shaped back, it's just the right amount of sweetness and sexiness. The color makes it stand out from the normal black and I think it is perfect for summer.
  • Bottom left is a shirt I recently picked up from Forever21, at $19.80 you really can't beat the price. I picture it with cute white cropped skinnies. The bright color and stripes really grab the eye and I love the tie in the front. Blouses are light and airy, therefore they have become a staple in my everyday wear.
  • These shoes are to. die. for. I ordered them from Zara a few weeks ago for a wedding I went to this past weekend and let me just say they are my new favorite shoes. Not only do the ankle straps make your legs look thinner and longer, but the color blocking is so fabulous. I paired it with a LBD and brought out the orange with some reddish orange earrings. I was beyond satisfied with the outfit and the ohhh's and ahhh's of the responses I got from friends and strangers. If you're looking for a fun diverse shoe this is for you. They also have them in a pink combo and blue combo on the site. You must check them out!

A Few Quintessential Favorites

Who doesn't have a list of favorite things? My quintessential favorites range from fashion to how to's to art. Although my favorites list is always changing, currently here are the things I just can't seem to live without. Some of them are lust worthy and some of them are old time favorites. Enjoy!

Necklaces

Top left: Splurge- Anthropologie or Steal- Etsy, Top Right: Spike The Punch, Bottom Left: BaubleBar, & Bottom Right: Spike The Punch

  • Currently I am obsessing with {Neck Candy}, anything from dainty chains to eye stopping jewels, I love them all. Here are just a few of the ones I'm loving right now. Bibb necklaces go great with high neck tops, button up blouses, or even just a plain tank. It' s a great addition to add a little Peter Pan {I don't want to grow up} attitude to any outfit or occasion.
  • Neon painted necklaces are all the rage right now and I am an avid fan of them. Spike the Punch is one of my absolute favorite Etsy Shops right now, she handmakes the most beautiful color combinations that are to die for. I forewarn you they are in high demand so be sure to follow her on Twitter for updates at @Spikethepunch_.
  • Monogram necklaces have always been a favorite of mine because they add uniqueness to anything and everything. I have a little bit of an obsession with "Q's" since they are hard to come by! Featured above is the newest addition to my collection from Bauble Bar. They offer so many different color options that are eye catching and amazing. I went with the turquoise and truly that picture does not do it justice.
  • The final thing I am loving is yet another piece from Spike The Punch. What girl doesn't love diamonds, even if they are just Chrystal? The piece featured has a unique design of layers of Chrystal and I adore it. To me it's the modern twist of the pearls that Audrey Hepburn wore with the LBD in Breakfast at Tiffany's. I love the versatility it has, I have worn it with everything from dresses to jeans and a tee shirt. If you're looking to make a statement this necklace is for you.

Vanity Pieces

Top Left: ISeeNoise, Top Right: Anthropolgie, Middle Right: Urbanoutfitters, Bottom Right: Urbanoutfitters Left Bottom:Pretty Smitten

  • I don't know about you but my favorite area of my room is my Vanity Area. Listed above are the things that I believe are essential to any vanity or desk area in a bedroom. I really love vintage looking pieces, I think they have a luxe feel to them. The painting featured is a gorgeous print by ISeeNoise on Etsy, if you love gold and silver accent prints be sure to head over to their Etsy shop ISeeNoise. They have other amazing prints to frame the area around your vanity.
  • Candles are a wonderful piece to add elegance to your vanity, I prefer ones that are in glass or metal containers to add to the decoration of the desk.
  • The trinket box listed above is not only resourceful for small earrings or rings but it's also so cute! I love mine, I recently picked mine up from Anthropologie because I didn't have a space to just put the jewelry I wear on an everyday basis in.
  • Mirrored trays can also be used to display your favorite jewels and/or a display for your perfumes. Perfumes are so expensive so why not use their pretty unique bottles as decoration as well.
  • The final piece I truly adore is the personalize lucite tray by Pretty Smitten. I have yet to purchase this but it is definitely on my "Lust List". This is a great way to personalize your vanity space and it's perfect for organizing anything from your lipsticks, perfumes, or your jewelry. Overall it is a great piece and I can not wait to get my hands on one!
