{Country Concert Attire}

{Carrie Underwood}

Happy Friday Y'all!!!!!! Whoohooo well I am so excited for this weekend because my friends and I are going to see Carrie Underwood!! I am so pumped for this because I die for Carrie, she is so swoon worthy! So I figured today would be a perfect day to do a post on possible outfits for tomorrow night!

I decided to go with three different looks: 1. Edgy, 2. Casual, and 3. Preppy. I haven't decided which I am going for yet but I like them all, I guess it will just depend on the mood I am in tomorrow. Well I hope you all have the most wonderful weekend and can enjoy this B-E-A-UTIFUL weather!!

{Simplicity}

I am very excited to introduce my very first guest blogger on QUINNtessential: Emily Cox! Emily is one of my nearest and dearest friends who I look up to in many different areas of life- one of them being {fashion}! There is no one way to describe her fashion sense, but it is all her own and it's incredible. When I approached her with the idea of doing a guest post she accepted without hesitation. I was elated! So, without further adieu, it my great honor to introduce you to Emily!!!

(Simplifying Your Wardrobe: Advice from Emily}

Yesterday I took four bags of clothes to the Goodwill.  FOUR BAGS.  Ripping through my closet I tossed everything I hadn’t worn in a year in an effort to simplify my life and style.

A creative and visual person, I take a lot of pride in my personal fashion sense.   My style is how I outwardly present myself to the world- and I am evolving. I am changing. I am growing. I am simplifying.  As the world spins madly on, we have a million stressors- jobs, relationships, money, LIFE.  Why add fashion to the list?

Simple style is tried and true.  It always looks effortless, polished, and chic.  A classic look can be updated by adding texture, modern cuts, or accessories that make a statement and allow your personal style to shine through.

If you are a self-proclaimed Queen of Patterns like myself, give simplicity a shot.  You may be surprised to find that by taking it down a notch you can actually up-style both your look and life.

Check out my online finds and personal pieces for fall 2012.

Simplicity

Above is my wish list for fall featuring simple pieces and colors that can be integrated with one another to create a multitude of looks.

A few pieces from my personal collection.  Proof you can be stylish while ballin' on a SERIOUS budget. As always, love and happiness to the QUINNtessential Fashionista herself: Miss Quinn Paul, who’s personality and style shine from the inside out!

Dreaming of an Island Escape...

{Island Company}

Is it really only Tuesday? Tuesdays are even worse when it rains, and when it rains all I can think about is moving to the Islands and being a beach bum. While sitting at work I looked over at my lovely tumbler cup that {The Island Company} so graciously sent me and realized how much I wanted and needed to take their advice written on the cup. "Quit your job, buy a ticket, get a tan, fall in love, never return". On a day like today that is exactly what I want to do.

So while I am sitting here fantasizing about moving to the islands I even came up with a list of things from Island Company that I would pack in my imaginary suitcase. Below are the things I think would be perfect for my escape.

Top Left: Bikini, Top Right: Linen Sweater, Bottom Left: Tee, & Bottom Right: Shirt Dress
  • Bikini: I love prints. This bikini just screamed out to me when I saw it. The colors are adorable together and the polka dots and bow make it even sweeter. The cut of the bikini is flattering to any figure and I just love it!
  • Linen Sweater: I love this for all year around. I am a sucker for linen sweaters because they are so versatile. You can wear them thrown over a bikini, with jeans, and even over a summer dress. It is an effortless and timeless piece everyone should have in their wardrobe.
  • Tee: Their signature tee with their slogan is just adorable. I also own this and have received many compliments on how cute the saying is. I could be a spokes person for this slogan right about now with this rainy weather and constant back pain I have from the stress of working.
  • Shirt Dress: I saved the best for last, I can not stop raving about this shirt dress. I think the stripes and cut of the dress are perfection. It is lightweight and so perfect for an Island getaway. I think you could dress it up with an arm party and some wedges and go out on the town.
So if you are in an {Island} state of mind and keep day dreaming of running away you need to check out The Island Company and shop for some island essentials!

Stay tuned for my first {Guest} Post from my greatest fashionista friend Emily!

Mere's Happily Ever After...

{The Road to Mrs. Jones....}

So I know I have been talking about this wedding for a really long time and I realized that I never did a post on her Bach party, so I figured I would do a recap of Mere's Happily Ever After.

{The Bach: Chicago}

Let's begin with the invite, I found this idea on the wonderful Pinterest. They were so simple and thanks to my lovely roomie Teddi we got them done! Not to toot my own horn, but I think they turned out great! The little butt with the cheetah thong was my favorite part. Her sizes of lingerie were included on the back.

{This was by far the biggest and greatest bachelorette party I have been on! Total 19 amazing ladies invaded Chicago and we had so much fun! Above we wore matching tanks that read "Mere's tying the knot, buy her a shot!". We were quite the purple herd walking around Chicago!}

{Before we went into The Hangg Uppe}
{Yes, this is R. Kelly, the King of R&B, the man who sings I believe I can fly. And yes, we sang the remix to ignition in a double-Decker McDonald's with this man. Awesome.}

{Bridal Luncheon}

Ryan's family threw Mere a beautiful luncheon the day before her big day! It was fun and relaxing to just sit with all the bridesmaids and talk about all the events leading up to Mere's wedding.

{The Wedding!}

Let me just say Mere was the most beautiful bride in all the land! Not only was she stunning but she always was so calm and easy to deal with, no bridezillas here! Below is just a few pictures from the big day!
