CAT COUNTRY!

{Football Time in the Bluegrass}

Yes it's that wonderful time of year where the weather is the perfect temp, burgers on the grill, beer flowing, and all the pretty ladies are dressed in UK Blue. It is almost officially {Football} season. In honor of the big game this weekend I decided to dedicate my post today to all things wonderful: UK. I have made two mood boards to showcase the different apparel you can wear while tailgating and cheering on the CATS. The first board is a {Casual Cats} and the second is {Southern Belle Cats Fans}. Either or is perfect for chanting, AHHHHH C-A-T-S. CATS CATS CATS!!

Shopaholic Problems

{And I Wonder Why I'm Broke Wednesday...}

First and foremost, please don't judge me. I decided to do a "Recent Purchase" post today and realized my recent purchases in the last 2 weeks have gotten way out of control. Mom and Dad if you are reading this feel free to send some money my way to help with funding my addiction. Below are the items I have most recently purchased and I guess as an excuse I am just going to say I am just getting my fall wardrobe together. As you can see I am really getting into the whole {Cheetah/Leopard} fashion statement, I love it, I am going crazy for cheetah. So enjoy and happy Wednesday!

Starting at the top left I will work my way down from left to right by rows:
  • Dolce Vita Green Blouse with Leopard Collar: The color and collar just screamed my name. I had to have it and it was on sale and Urban at the time was offering free shipping so why not? It will go perfect with black skinny jeans and pumps in the fall or winter with a blazer. I bought it because I think it can be a work+play shirt also.
  • Tan Peep Toe Mary Janes with Bow: Are you dying? Do you love these as much as I do? Well my wonderful/bad influence friend Leah showed me these and thank god she did because I.am.in.LOVE. I am going to wear them to a rehearsal dinner next Friday if I get them in on time. Seeesh what are friends for really beside showing you shoes you just can't live without. Thanks Rooms for feeding the flames of my shopping habit.
  • White Button Down with Leopard Trim: It was love at first sight when I saw this top, it is from this great little store called, Sosie, check it out. It is affordable and oh so cute. Well back to the love story of this blouse and I. So I saw it and fell even more in love with the price tag. This place ships extremely fast I ordered it on a Wednesday and got it that Saturday. I ended up wearing this in Chicago tied up with black skinny jeans. Definitely looking forward to wearing it again!
  • Set of 2 Gold Cuffs: Urban came to town and I snatched up these two little beauties to add to my arm party family. Who doesn't love a little luck and love added to their daily arm party?
  • Leopard+Peplum: I picked up this amazing peplum and leopard top from Zara in Chicago. Zara is my favorite store so I had to get something while I was there. I loved this print and cut, I imagine it with a cute necklace and a red lip.
  • Mint Green Cuff: When it comes to jewelry Anthropologie really can do no wrong. I love this little mint green cuff, it will be a lovely addition to the arm party family that is really starting to get out of control. I have officially put myself on probation from buying any more bracelets!
  • Black Pumps: Can a girl really ever have too many black pumps? Well I have an excuse as to why I bought these, I left my favorite pair in Chicago! Who does that? I guess me? Well I got these cute suede pumps from Urban and I am really excited to wear them soon.
  • Split Frame Shades: When I saw these at Anthro I loved them and decided that since I know I already have tortoiseshell sunnies and plain black why not get a pair that has both? The coloring of these shades are perfect for all year round and are really durable made of hard plastic. Again, can a girl really have too many pairs of sunglasses? NO.
  • NARS Lipstick in Heat Wave: Another lipstick, yup. Guilty. In my defense I have wanted this color all summer but have held off. Not until recently seeing it on another blog did I fully commit. I grew crazy jealous and realized that OK enough is enough and I just need it in my life. So, I plan on wearing it this weekend so I will post pics soon to show how great of a purchase it was!
This weekend for me is jam packed with Engagement Parties, Weddings, and a little UK Football! So everyone have a wonderful and safe holiday and GOOOO CAAAYYYUUTTTSSSS!!!!!!!

Mere's Gettin Hitched!!!

{Bachelorette Party: "I'm Ready to PAAAARRRRRTTTAAAAYYYYY"}

It is FINALLY here! My best friend Mere is getting married and tomorrow 19 gals are traveling to Chicago for her final fling as a single lady! In honor of "Mere's Mayham" I decided to do a post on my picks for both the {bride-to-be} on her Bach party and the girls. We are doing the black dresses and bride in white on one night so I decided to focus on that. I will be back next week with outrageous photos from the trip!

Bride:

Mere is tall and thin which guarantees she will look hawt in just about anything. The dresses above are my top picks for her. Working from the left to the right this dress is from ASOS and has a sweet and girly feel to it. The jeweled peter pan collar makes it stand out and I think it is adorable. The middle dress is in-cred-ible. I die for it, it reminds me of my favorite dress that Emily Maynard wore on her infamous date where she told Kalon to "Then get the ffffff out" This would be a dream on Mere's bod and I love it, oh if only I were taller I'd order it right now! Finally the last one, I love and have had it in my cart for months. The neon beading....bahhhhh, I want it, I love the cut, colors, and overall look of this dress. There are my top three for Mere, the soon to be Mrs. Jones!

The Rest of the Ladies:

The {LBD}, now a days there are so many different ways to wear a little black dress and I am beyond thrilled. these were three that really stood out to me while I was shopping for mine for this weekend. The first one I actually ordered but I failed "Online Shopping 101" and didn't look at the size chart on a European brand, let's just say it looked like a child's dress. But overall if it would have fit it would have been really cute! The middle is your basic one shoulder however, there is something about the top of the dress that is very blunt and I think it would look amazing with a big chunky necklace. The third and final dress has a peek a boo effect that is not over the top due to the conservative cut of the dress. I would throw a big arm party on that one and call it perfect.

I'll end today's post with my favorite lines in "Bridesmaids"...Enjoy! Hope everyone has a fabulous weekend because I sure know mine will be AHHHHMMMMAAZZZINGGG!!!!!!!

Personal Shopper

{This One's for the Gals}

Friends, pals, companions, amigos, doesn't matter what you call them all that matters is where would we be without them? I'd be completely lost and confused without my greatest pals. As you know I have an infatuation with shopping, it's kind of like a disease; a constant struggle I deal with everyday. Well whenever I'm out and about shopping I find myself picking out different things that I think my friends would like or look really great in. One of my friends, Laura, if you remember correctly she's the one who loves George Clinton, "The Queen of the Dog" even nicknamed me, "Fairy Fashion God Mother". This gave me the brilliant idea to make a mood board for each one of my pals. Ohhhhh weeee this was probably the most fun I have ever had writing an entry. Hands down my favorite so far. So, my dearest and nearest friends I hope you love the picks I have chosen for you, and as my fave girls that are golden say, "thank you for being a friend".

Baili:

My lovely friend whose got it and knows how to flaunt it. When I think of her style I think simple with a flare, whether that's the cut of the dress or color she knows what works for her and uses it. Shes got the perfect bod that can pull off a range of styles, which I'm quite jealous of. Currently her go to staple are big chunky necklaces, so easy enough I found this really great colorful necklace. Next, Baili has a small waist which allows her to wear the cinched dresses that are in style that some people love or hate. This dress I chose offers the sexy cut out back. And lastly, when I saw this sweater with the cut out arms I just knew it had her name written all over it! Baili has a simple style that allows her to use accessories or prints to dress up any occasion.

  Emily:

Maxi, Dress, Necklace

My Haute Hippie friend with a hint of glam flare. Emily is a fashion forward risk taker who is her own style guru. It is unique and suits her perfectly. The items I have chosen for her are this adorable halter maxi with soft coloring and a feather print. It's perfection. The bib necklaces plays up her glamorous side, I see her pairing it with black straight leg jeans, a fitted tank and bright blazer. Lastly I chose this mint green dress which would look amazing with her lush dark curls. The color and fabric would play up her sweet side, while the back sexes it up.

Jenni:
Top & Shorts, Sandals, Dress

Whom I also refer to as Jent, ultimate partner in crime has a sweet girly style with a hint of hipster. Jenni has a teensy tiny waist and knows how to play up this feature well. She is also newly engaged which is why this white dress is perfect for her. The fitted flare dress was made for her bod, it showcases her small waist perfectly. The crop top and shorts scream Jenni to me, the fun print stays true to her hint of hipster while the lace detailing on the top scream girly. These sandals are a bright color and design which I know would grab her attention.

Jessica:
Printed Top, Lace topDress

My friend who is the definition of sleek, sophisticated, and put together all rolled into one. I don't think I've ever seen her not looking incredible. She was my easiest friend to shop for. Ann Taylor clothes were designed for this girl right here. She has a petite frame allowing her to wear styles from tight fitting to boxy and loose. This low drop waist dress would look adorable on her and I can see her pairing it with understated jewels and a killer clutch. The lace top was made for her and if she doesn't buy it I will be shocked! The colorful top has the best of both worlds: classic style and cut while also having a bright fun pattern.

Jo:

Sequin Dress , Bracelet, Dress
The girl that can pull off just about anything; aka the Chameleon. Jo's personal style has and continues to really evolve over time. I lived with her in college and since then continued to see many style changes. She can be glamorous, hipster, and edgy all at the same time. She's tall and thin which means she can literally wear anything. For her I chose this short sequined dress to show off her glam side and accent her long legs that could go on for days. The taupe dress with geometric shapes screamed beach chic  which she could pull off in her new home of San Fran. Lastly, Jo loves horses, she is from KY after all and this horseshoe bracelet could be a sweet reminder of the place she calls home.

Katie:

Mullet DressBootsLace Dress
My Southern Bell who is a girly girl with a hint of country chic. This floral print high low dress which I like to call "The Mullet" dress would be adorable on her tiny frame. Although the style of the dress is a little bit edgy the print is sweet and southern. The boots were no questions asked perfect for her. Katie even has a bit of an edgy flare so these boots fit perfectly into both edgy and country. The last dress is sweet and girly with the coloring and fabric. I'm confident to admit she might already own something similar.

Lana:

SkirtTopDress
Aka Lanbanan is my sweetest friend who has a style to match her amazingly sweet personality. When I think of her style girly comes to mind. Sweet prints like stripes, chevrons, and polka dots are very fitting. The scalloped white skirt is not only sweet but very sexy and would look great on her petite frame. (yes i know what your thinking do all her friends have tiny waists and petite frames?...yup pretty much, welcome to my hell of envy). The dress is really ideal for her because of the bright colors, simple fit, and cute pattern.

Laura:

SkirtWatchDress

If I had to pick a store to describe Laura it would be J.Crew. Classic, simple, and overall ideal for a permanent yacht inspired vacation; which we daydream about constantly. Although her closet could be a J.Crew catalogue Laura knows how to work accent pieces, which makes her style unique. I saw this skirt and wanted to order it for her immediately. The cut and style is very classic yet the design is bright and incredibly sweet. Not only would this robin egg blue dress go perfectly with her light blue eyes it would be adventurous for her with the print but also stay true to her with the cut. Lastly, this Kate Spade gold watch. I died because i really love it and I know she would to. She has quite a few watches and this would fit in perfectly.

Leah:

JeansTopBracelet
My eccentric friend who was born to wear any and every pair of jean ever invented, aka, "The Queen of Jeans". Leah is edgy and can pull of quite a few looks ranging from an understated glamorous side to a little hipster/hippie side. She is a top and jean type of girl so this black embellished top would look incredible with a skinny denim. She would pair it with colors ranging from white, grey, or even red; and anything she chose would look amazing. This bracelet adds to her hint of glam side which is sassy and still edgy. Of course I had to pick a jean and this ombre jean is perfection. She is probably the only person who I know who could confidently rock these jeans and look incredible in them.

Mere:

Aqua DressEarringsEmbellished Dress
Mere has a sweet and sophisticated style, think Charlotte from Sex and the City with a bit of an edge. Obviously I think she looks ideal in shades of light blue and teal. This teal dress would look great on her because of its sophisticated cut and lace insert back making it sleek yet sexy. Mere is also getting married and this Light blue dress with beading just screams bridal to me I love it and I know she will agree. The earrings are girly and would be perfect for a night out or every day.

Rachael:

Jack RogersEarringsDress
My preppy friend, aka Wadds, waddoth cave, only other friend who has more nicknames than me. Wadds is the true staple friend who lives for monograms and anything prepster. It fits her well and she knows how to make this trend her own. I saw these Jack Rodgers and saw that they were monogram-able and knew she needed a pair immediately. This dress has a sophisticated style but a fun print- which she is really known for her printed dresses. Finally these earrings, gold bees, (Katie are you seeing these?) yes I believe one day Waddy will be a member and therefore I chose these to represent her style. Wadds you know it to be true.

Sara:

DressShortsNecklace

My eccentric hippie friend whom I refer to as Gents. Sara is unique and has a style that is true to who she is. She is well cultured and I think it's apparent through her looks. She has these killer thin legs that look really great in shorts, so these lace shorts were ideal for me to choose for her. The dress I chose is short and sassy with the prints and bright colors. It's fitted in the areas that would compliment her figure and would look great with her dark features and tan skin. Lastly, this necklace, I can't explain it but it just screams her name. The black and gold really stand out and she would just love it.

Teddi:
SweaterBootsBackpack

Teddra, my risk taking hipster with a hint of edge roomie. Teddi can also fit into the chameleon category, she is lucky enough that she can pull off many different looks. I see her in flowy maxi skirts with lace tops, to sweaters paired with leggings and incredible crocheted booties. I can't exactly title her style because it is just who she is and it works. I will say if I had to dress her in a store everyday it'd be Madewell. The sweater jumped out to me immediately and I knew she would love it, and where is it from you ask? Madewell. She is a huge fan of ikat inspired prints so this backpack would be an ideal accessorie. Lastly, the boots. These booooots were literally designed, hand crafted, and sold so Teddi could buy and wear them every second of every day.

So there you have it, my top 3 picks for all my greatest friends. I hope everyone is having a great Thursday and a wonderful weekend!!!!
